EHS was thrilled to support The Liberty County Community Coalition (LCCC) meeting on December 12. The focus of this gathering was the crucial issues of Mental Health and Substance Abuse that Liberty County is facing. Esteemed guest speakers at this event included Jennifer L. Bergman, Liberty County District Attorney, and Evan Roberson, Executive Director for Tri-County Behavioral Healthcare. Both speakers gave a thorough overview of the current state of mental health and substance abuse in Liberty County, discussing the challenges and opportunities within our community.
Maria Chiappe, Communications Coordinator with EHS, coordinates this initiative, whose mission is to improve the physical and mental well-being of Liberty County residents by identifying gaps in services and collaborating to fill those gaps through the delivery of resources and education. The group meets quarterly to discuss county residents’ most pressing issues, fostering open dialogue, resource sharing, and networking. The next meeting is scheduled for March 2024.
A diverse array of organizations participated in the LCCC meeting, demonstrating the coalition’s commitment to inclusivity and collaboration. Representatives from the Texas Department of State Health Services, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Texas Child Protective Services, and other organizations, including Emergency Hospital Systems, collectively engaged in discussions to address community challenges. The meeting showcased the collaborative spirit of the coalition and served as a dynamic platform for valuable discussions, knowledge-sharing, and networking opportunities.
The Liberty County Community Coalition looks forward to building on the momentum generated by this successful gathering. By working hand in hand with its diverse members, the coalition aims to create a more resilient and connected community.
