The 2024 Annual EHS Skills Fair began at the Deerbrook location with remarkable success, thanks to the dedicated efforts of EHS Employee Health Nurse Ronna Baker and her support team. Their hard work and essential assistance from the Maintenance team ensured a fun set up for the event.
This year’s event embraced an exciting alien movie theme, bringing energy and fun to the educational experience. The fair featured 30 interactive stations designed to test and enhance clinical skills. Participants had the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning across topics such as HIPAA compliance, infection control, sepsis, mental health, Biomed services, and respiratory care, among many more.
Attendees also enjoyed refreshments, flu shots, and a chance to update their annual employee health forms—all while gaining critical knowledge to improve patient care.
The Deerbrook Skills Fair took place from October 7th–11th and October 14th–18th, with sessions running from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily. This annual event represents a vital opportunity for EHS staff to stay current with essential clinical practices and refresh their skills.
Special thanks go to Nurse Health Ronna Baker for her leadership and coordination and to Morgan Hendriks and the Maintenance team for their role in setting up the event. Their collaborative efforts made the Deerbrook fair an outstanding fair.
The Skills Fair will now be held at the Cleveland location from October 21st to 25th and October 28th to 31st, with the same operating hours. All staff are encouraged to attend to sharpen their skills and have a little extraterrestrial fun along the way!
